Agriculture
Specialised training that raises production with techniques suited to wetland conditions, and advocacy for a dedicated Haor Agro Hub giving farmers a permanent base for inputs, storage and knowledge sharing.
Environment
Campaigns, research and advocacy to protect the haor's biodiversity, including regular tree plantation that stabilises embankments, provides shade and fruit, and slows erosion.
Women Empowerment
Technical training centres for women's self-employment, giving each trainee a trade that does not depend on the flood calendar, plus support to produce and market handicrafts beyond their union.
Health
Working toward the Alokito Haor Foundation Hospital, a health service hotline for guidance at a distance, and land and water ambulances, because in a region defined by water one mode of emergency transport is never enough.
Education
Campaigns to prevent dropout, especially among primary students, scholarships for poor and talented students, and play equipment in every school so education is something children look forward to.
Legal Aid & Human Rights
A growing network of Haor Legal Aid Centres offering alternative dispute resolution and free legal aid, so isolation from the formal justice system never means isolation from justice itself.
Anti-drug & Anti-smoking
Campaigns to protect society, especially the youth, from addiction, including planned rehabilitation centres for treatment in remote haor communities.
